Jean NerenbergI like to process my images in my mind before sitting down to paint. What comes out is often a surprise to me. Once I have created something that appeals to me, I try to develop the idea that has emerged into its variations, working in series to explore pssibilities within the images and to abstract the subject matter even further. The creative process continues to amaze me after painting my whole lifetime. I have worked as a graphic designer, and art specialist in the past, but now have the pleasure of maintaining a studio in Chicago where I can work without interruptions, and in Tucson I also paint. My designer's eye and my love of nature are imprinted on my work. Watercolor allows me the freedome to explore. The inherent accidents which watercolors provide are a challendge that I love, The looseness of the medium offers unlimited options. Sometimes I combine them with colored pencils and water-based crayons. To contact Jean about
