Judy NakariI have been a watercolorist for some 30 years, and the medium continues to delight me with its many challenges and rewards. I have studied with many of the best teachers and painters, sometimes in exotic locales around the world, absorbing, admiriing, painting, and all the while developing my style. My real teacher, however, has been the process of creating art. I look for design and color, and try to achieve an essential radiance, from nature and from the human figure, and to allow the divine creative process to take over. "Accidents" in the creative process are treated as gifts and possibilities. My husband and I re-located to Tucson from Colorado in 2003, and I find that painting desert scenes is an exciting challenge. Additionally, I have painted extensively in Tuscany, Italy, having led workshops there from 2003 through 2006. Currently, I teach plein air workshops through the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum near Tucson. I hold active and
signature membership in three professional organizations: My work is represented by Desert Artisans Gallery of Tucson and Manos Gallery of Tubac, Arizona. |
