What is a "Signature Member's Show"?

Only those members of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild who have the right to add the initials S.A.W.G. after their signature on their paintings may submit work to this juried show. This right to "signature status" is earned by having a painting or paintings accepted into five designated, juried watercolor exhibitions. These shows include the SAWG Annual Exhibition (Tucson), the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Annual Exhibition (location varies), The Arizona Aqueous Show (Tubac), and the Arizona Watercolor Association Fall and Spring Shows (Phoenix area).

Because a qualified watercolor juror who is not a member of the Guild selects the paintings to be included in these shows (and also selects the award-winning paintings), it is more difficult to have a painting accepted for these exhibitions, and therefore implies a certain level of competency in watercolor painting.
